project showcase: {ART} Features Ruyi Wong

Ruyi Wong completed her BFA (hons) from Nanyang Technological University the School of Art, Design and Media. Ruyi is now completing her Master in Fine Arts in University Of The Arts London. VOID:eck By The Sea was selected to be screened for SEED festival 2011 at The Arts House. Recently, Ruyi has round off her solo video art exhibition with the support of Singapore Young Contemporary Artists and a PEEK! an analog camera retail. Ruyi was selected by the organizers of Alliance Francaise De Singapour of France+Singapore New Generation Artist 2011, and took part in their annual exhibition. Ruyi was also an artist-in-residence at Bukit Timah Dairy Farm with Artist Caravan, and with the support of National Park and members of The Nature Society of Singapore. During her Artist In Residence, Ruyi develops a giant video kaleidoscope sculpture where she digitally engineered and resurrected an extinct native floral species. Ruyi's current practice-led research lies within the experimenting alternative photographic practices to represent the metaphysical realm.

Ruyi writes about art and her writing has appear in independent publication and exhibitions.
