Jonathan Ang is an improviser, performer, teacher and just about every other thing in between. Known for using his passion in performing to fuel his lifestyle of musical decadence. More recently though, he can be found struggling to get bunches of kids under control at music workshops which he conducts across London.Currently a graduate student at Guildhall School of Music & Drama, London, Jonathan has worked extensively in Singapore from theatres to bars to weddings. An amateur ethnomusicologist since his college days at LASALLE, Singapore, he is also currently seeking to master the mbira to heighten his entertainment value as both a performer and a leader. (Apart from really adoring that instrument, of course.)
Recent stints include the London Jazz Festival, the Bath International Music Festival and the SQUADRON Festival at Bishopsgate Institute, London. He has also recently completed a series of recordings at Abbey Road Studios with his beloved folk ensemble.
