creative [SIN]ergy presents - Slumber series

In conjunction with Short Circuit - London, creative [SIN]ergy also presented the first solo exhibition of Slumber series by Steven Lim, during the pre-screening reception. These prints are taken over a span of 3 years, this project was borne from a challenge to produce a series where the eyes of the subject are shut. This was to see the effect on the photos since the eyes are often the center of importance in most portraitures. Titled the SLUMBER series, these are photos taken during the vulnerability and intimacy of sleep. Subjects are genuinely asleep and unposed.Steven Lim may be a familiar face among Singaporeans having acted in several television productions and films during his time in Singapore. In 2001, he auditioned and gained a place for training at LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art) and has been working in London since.
Better known for being in front of the camera than behind it, he opted to take time off from acting to pursue his long standing passion for photography. His work has been published in several magazines and a photo was recently used as the cover picture of a magazine published in the US. He currently freelances doing portraitures and projects with specialty independent retailers.
